Smoking does more silly


New attack to smokers have spent at University of Northumberland (Great Britain). This time scientists have armed with incontestable proofs that smoking fatally affects on cognitive functions and leads to memory easing, — shares Drug and Alcohol Dependence.

To study influence of smoking on memory, researchers have invited students, among which: 24 opponents of this bad habit, 18 persons who have given up smoking, and 27 smokers. Within the limits of experiment to all volunteers have suggested to remember some moments from student's life.
To the second stage of experiment have admitted only a quantity of participants which have approached on IQ, did not abuse alcohol and did not drink on the eve of check.
As well as it was supposed, is the most worse with the task smokers who only in 59 % of cases have remembered the necessary information have consulted. The second place on retentive have occupied given up smoking – 74 % of tasks have been passed successfully. Non-smoking participants who could answer correctly test questions in 81 % of cases left winners.
