Memory depends not on duration of a dream, and from its continuity

As it is known, during a dream our memoirs pass from short-term memory in the long-term. Researchers from Stanford University specify that for qualitative course of this process not so much duration of a dream, how many its continuity is important, — transfers ScienceNews, referring to the report of scientists in magazine PNAS.

Experiment have spent on mice. For this purpose it in separate cages of a brain implanted photosensitive fiber ChR2 and fibre-optical implants. Further one group of mice by means of flashes of dark blue light through electrodes awoke every minute. The second group of mice received similar signals each two minutes. Thus mice did not wake up completely. At them only the muscles slightly shook.
After prompting by an experimental animal offered toys, as new, and with what they have got acquainted earlier. It was found out that mice which allowed to sleep on two minutes, easily learnt familiar subjects and to more time gave to new toys. During too time of the individual which awoke every minute, with identical hobby investigated all offered subjects.
From this scientists do a conclusion that, possibly, process of consolidation of memory will stretch in time. In something it can be compared to swapping of files from one carrier on another. Now researchers plan to find out, what biochemistry underlies these processes.
